Answers

Answer:
Possibly, but scabies mites do not survive more than two to three days away from human skin. Bedding, clothing or towels used by a person with scabies can be decontaminated by machine-washing in hot water and drying using the hot cycle or by dry-cleaning. Anything that can't be washed or dry-cleaned (like furniture) can be decontaminated by removing from body contact for at least 72 hours.

Answer:
You should not apply this product to your skin, but you could apply to your clothing if you wanted. Mites don't live long without skin contact, however, so it's likely not necessary to do anything but wash bedding in hot water. Use a lotion or other product designed specifically for scabies treatment.

I have part of a can left over from about 5 years ago and want to know if it will still be as effective as it was then. Since it is fairly expensive I hate to just throw it away if it will still work.

Answer:
As long as you have stored as directed on the can, it's still effective. Sealed aerosols such as this one will generally last indefinitely.
